One more accident in the rain from Friday, June 7th
Boom! Crash! Bang!
Boom! Crash! Bang!
Listening to Imus on Route 252
Friday in the rain
Accident #2,392 it seems
rearended and-
rearended and –
someone who died
someone who died
a long time ago and was friend
even though Lawyer
told me it’s never never never
told me it’s never never never
your fault when rear-ended
your fault when rear-ended
never your fault when rear-ended
though he had a case once
I still miss Barry
and want to call him, dead these many years-
at times like these to stay sober-
so stop the car and get out
so stop the car and get out
the other driver doesn’t
the other driver doesn’t
she won’t give up her information
not name or number or insurance
not name or number or insurance
not even after
not even after
I copy down license and model
not even after then
not even after then
As Don Imus says
“I was born at night, not just last night”
More than probable
More than probable
the Springfield Police
can’t do diddly
the way the laws are written
the way the laws are written
But I’ve been here before
way too many times before
and I know how it rolls
and do not dream of justice
and do not dream of justice
