At a Montreal Bar #1 and Back to the Parc both from 9-22-2011

At a Montreal Bar #1

At the Montreal bar
we had salad soup spaghetti
2 types bread
peering over her shoulder
for a phillies score
no more

At the Montreal bar
nothing more important than her
in the place where thoughts lie

still the best record in baseball                                                                                    but maybe they could win a few                                                                                 that’s all i knew

we realized
this was not the place we wanted to be
words swirling in French
listening not to each other
but foreign others

This, I recall
and my recall may be lost sometimes
more in the following years
this was the last night
we did not go to our regular place
to share time words and face

Back to the parc 9-22

walking streets
homeless men with dogs
lying there in the autumn grass
as we might
if we were home
not having one

this one man
in a sweet breath of love
helping his less homed girlfriend
remove the lice from her hair
making them homeless-
a condition not to last long

reminded me of
St Louis Square
we once were
as observers only
who knows the future

From 9-22  who  knows the Future
