And dreams they have
At the end he reviews his life
as though reviewing a book for the
Dartmoor History Library and though it’s not Booker quality
he finds it well-lived well-lived
That was my last night’s dream
then , my life reviewed and renewed
though it wasn’t really mine
wrong country, wrong piece of century, wrong person,
too quiet certainly not me
if he slept each night in an English Country bed
now soon dead now soon dead
now too soon dead
If your life dashes before your burning eye,
Should it not be your life
not that of an Eng Lit Librarian
or a Jordanian Pilot
I am trying to find a way to speak about the unspeakable
to mourn, to take something out and put something in
I find it is a wall that I must knock my fist against
Till the wall not the fist bleeds
Till the wall not the fist bleeds
