Upland Peace Camp #3

under this tree
sit I in the rain
Honora walks
back and pave ment forth
as ex pec tant
as a preg nant father
or a father
preg nant
with ex pec tan cy
others sit and talk
listen to KYW News Radio
Greg and I wonder
if the Reds
are beating the Yan Kees
if base ball
imitates life

2) under this dream tree
I sit to write
images of the eve ning pre vi ous
subway threatened violence
man thing
wo man thing
Fri day scream night in Philly
kinda like the sub burbs but bet ter, bitter-
once we get to Peace in Cen tral America
how ’bout Peace in Phil ly
3) Under the tree
I cop watch
cop a watch
of cops watching me watching them watching
me
it would be silly
if blood was not in
volved
4) I can hear Paula still talking
some images never change
world without Peace, Amen

5) my usual Philly causes
are Gay & Lesbian, Home less, and MOVE
rights
strange how bed persons
make politics
or something like that-

-Fuck, I went
through all this in the god damn six ties
why are we in a Vi et nam a
gain?
