It was a Monday
September and llth
even in Canada
it was a Monday
we all agree that
if nothing else
if nothing else
trying to do something
we knew we could do
but told we couldn’t or
failing that
made so cumbersome
we would just leave
look I felt like saying
we just want to
open a bank account in
Canadian dollars
not rob the bank
but did not
It was Monday after all
we had ten days to do this
if it was to be done
maybe
one thought
some things are not meant
to be done
if I Had to be pregnant
if most men did
we would have a severely underpopulated planet
don’t ask me why
I thought of that
I just did
finding the bank was easier than that
I know this
despite never being pregnant
If men got pregnant
abortioners would accept coupons
and you’d get a beef and a beer
and free Flyerz tickets
if men got pregnant
If men got pregnant
and other men stood in front
of abortion clinics
you’d have fist city
at least
if men got pregnant

there would not be an
abortion free state in the union
the military would pay for them
if men got pregnant

I might not have had a daughter
there would be a lot of sons and
daughters
not happening

Who knows
on other planets
maybe males do get pregnant
watch their kids like
Penguins do
on other planets
Maybe there is a whole society
where men welcome this
do not see it as oppression
but power
the future
is in their loins
I waited a long time
at many banks
while most everyone
spoke in a language
that would not of been
foreign
if I’d taken the time to learn it
Today was Bank Monday
nothing more or less

Bob Small was Founder and President of the
two decades old Poets and Prophets,
which presented Poetry Readings
in both Delaware County and Philadelphia.
Bob was the Chair of The Delaware County Green Party and was the
First Green Party Candidate in Delaware County (2005).
He was also a Green Party National Delegate, among other duties.
He is the Founder and Facilitator of
The Pennsylvania Ballot Access Coalition (PaBac),
which is a Coalition of both Independents and Third Parties.,
seeking to legislatively improve Pennsylvania's Ballot Access Laws. (Facebook)
Bob is also a founding member and
Facilitator of Democracy Unplugged, and Delco Debates,
which has presented Independent and Third Party Forums in Delaware County since 2004. Facebook)
He was formerly involved with Cinema Resistance, and Delco Pledge of Resistance.
Bob currently lives in Swarthmore with his wife
and their menagerie of animals.
He is currently focused on writing a Novel and organizing his Poetry, which he posts on his Blog (Bob Small1). He is retired from most of the above activities, except Delco Debates and Poets and Prophets, which he may return to.
