The Covid Cafe #32 Some Days are

The Covid Cafe # 32

Some days are

Some days

seem like the same

                    and  same

                    and same

get up

don’t go to work

                       library

                       restaurant

don’t get

calls back

from friends

Some days are

hardtotellapart

from other days

how do you

tell a

Monday

from a

Tuesday

from a

Sunday

oh, the Church is streaming

musn’t it now be Sunday

but streaming doesn’t give him that glow-

everything

is

watching

listening

You can walk

but not too far

You can talk

but to whom

Sometimes

he

calls old friends

and he can

tell you

the

moment

they stop

listening.

when he says he’s driving tomorrow

from Swarthmore to Chicago

from Swarthmore to Chicago

and they just reply

“well, take care”

Sometimes

he just

wants to scream

not for any

special

reason

just that

some days

most days

are no

longer

required

to

be

special

  from 4/7
