My name is dan and I am a recovering Qanon

His voice shook him as he stood in front

saying the words did not make

him

feel

stronger

that would come later

he hoped

_________________________________________________________

Was it like one of those old hour westerns

where the Sheriff turns out

to be the head of the gang

doing stagecoach robberies

____________________________________________

He told how he had gone from

raging at the Internet

to joining others on the street

from screaming,

to using his fists

to make his point

allthewhilethinking

this world would be changed!

___________________________________________

Was there really no Nambla anymore

or, at least, one that mattered

was there not this empire of evil

that he had been so truly told

_____________________________________

He told how one day

after a night of posting,

then walking, then driving

then trying to find his way home again

he knew there were many lies

in the world

and he was someone

who only believed the best lies

______________________________________

After the applause

he sat down

not knowing now

what he would do with his life
