My week
Monday, June 10th-Swarthmore Borough Council 7:30 pm
Again, I was the sole citizen not connected with the Borough Council or the College and not required to be there i. e. reporters, etc. Even after my letter in The Swarthmorean last month, none of the other Sheeple (to use the Libertarian phrase) attended. Thus they can legislate in darkness. I must write a satire at what might happen at unattended meetings, such as Swarthmore legislating nude dog walking (since the dogs are naked anyhow).
And we inherited Murdoch the cat tonight.
Tonight June 11th. My Poetry Reading at Stage One in Wallingford and our (Poets and Prophets) last reading until Fall there. It’s too hot and the attendence in summer is too scant. On the upside Amici and Del Val Opera Companies are now doing presentations there.
Wed, June 12th-Cam Newton, former Swarthmore Resident (or Swarthmoron as we call ourselves) is hosting a Fundraising event as part of his campaign for Mayor of Minneapolis. I am only going because my daughter lives up north. Will drop Paula off at the swim pool.
Thursday, June 13th-Planning Meeting with Democracy Unplugged at 7pm.
Our last 2 Forums were successes and both were recorded and filmed by PCN (Pennsylvania Cable Network) and shown. Our last two were on first guns then liquor. When I spoke to Susan L. Serbin on Monday Night (she’s an Indy reporter for the Delco Times, Town Talk, etc) she raised an eyebrow and asked “What’s next?”. Sex drugs and rock and roll, I thought or, as the song goes, “money, guns and lawyers”. Anyway, we need a balance in both our planning committee and our Forums between what’s call left and right in this country.
Will send out an Agenda today. later.
Paula to swim.
Friday, June 14th we will go to the early seating of the Swedische Smorgasboard at Ikea’s and I think I should stop here and do soem real worke.
