EJMZ 1 and 2

Elizabeth June Madden-Zibman

EJMZ, we would say now

When we met, her and Chris

Chris and her, the two of them

were Open Mouth Poetry

For reasons, for reasons

they no longer would could whatever the word was

and I decided I could do it

and found a female to work with

so we would be Open Mouth and and and

It was the first time

I felt I could leadership take

and not the last time

there would be ulteriors

Chris and June trusted us trusted us

and we did a good job for a while

till there was too much us too much us

two egos too much two egos too much

We both went on to other worlds

but we did a lot and…

Chris and June gave us the power

and gave the space to hundreds of

Philadelphia Poets

From the 3-30-2014

Chris Peditto Tribute Reading

The first time I walked in to

an Open Mouth Reading

and she was encouraging

as she always was

and like many

not previously used to

being told they might be able

it took me a while to hear

This is my memory of her

and I meant to say this to her

on the night of 3-30

Let me say it now

Let me say it now
